A legal researcher and TV presenter, he hosts "Smart with Hussam Alhaj" on Channel 24 HD and has worked as a host of several talk shows on Al-Sharqiya TV and as a news correspondent for Al-Hurra, Al-Sumaria, and Al-Baghdadiya.

He holds a master's degree in law. With a group of Iraqi journalists and activists, he founded the "Rejection group", which adopts the use of all constitutional and legitimate options in the process of state-building.
